Links I Like

This is just the beginning of what will probably be a very long list... but here, for now, is a very short one.

About me:

I don't have a page on Wikipedia (yet) but here's my page at Bloomsbury.

I've just discovered that there is a fansite for my books. I'm ridiculously excited about this. (And it really, truly, has nothing to do with me. Honest.)

About other things:

I spend far too much time looking at xkcd. I blame my sister, who introduced me to it.

And reading Meg Rosoff's blog, to give myself something to aspire to.

And reading slash fiction. Strangely addictive, and I'm considering a kind of project based on it... so it's research. Honest.

I have just discovered TVTropes. It is brilliant. For ideas about fiction, narrative, humanity and Real Life, it's practically unbeatable - and restores my faith in the level of intelligence, enlightenment and humour of the people who use the Internet. Or do I just mean people, full stop?

(A caveat to the above: when I added this link, I'd only found TVTropes two weeks before and I'd spent at least fifteen hours on it. Possibly my initial euphoria was the same way lots of people feel about heroin.)

Writeordie.com. The name says it all, really. (Enter word target of 3000, a time limit of 3 hours, put it on strict/kamikaze mode, and then email me the result. Go on. I dare you.)

This year I'm doing NaNoWriMo. So far it's going OK...
